GOLDEN-BROWED CHLOROPHONIA

TALAMANCA MOUNTAINS, COSTA RICA

A male Golden-browed Chlorophonia (Chlorophonia callophrys) delicately plucks a fruit from a cavendishia shrub.
The isolated mountains of Costa Rica and western Panama are home to a high degree of endemism, with these beautiful, uniquely coloured tanagers being one of many birds found only in this diverse region.
